Want to lighten my hair with out bleach any suggestions?

I have dyed my hair black over and over for the past 5 years,my hair is naturally medieum brown.I have also bleached my bangs blond while they were dyed black.I have finally manage to grow out my hair to most of it being my natural color (starting out with all black). So as of now most of my bottom layers of hair are black and the crown and sides are dark brown. Now I want to lighten my brown hair to a light brown/dirty blond without bleaching. Are there any highlight kits or hair colors that will only take me a few shades lighter w/out over prossesing?Like somthing that I can put in my hair that will take me down a couple shades and no more than that?Sorry if this is to much info i was trying to get as specific as possible.

::::On a side note to your recent tirade, we're trying to help. There's no need to get pissy because you didn't get the answer you wanted. I went to your page to read some of your answers and the first one I came to was one regarding a girl that wanted to get in to modeling. Your response didn't answer her question, so you're being a bit hypocritical. You asked here for a way to drastically lighten hair without bleach and I answered honestly. There isn't one. Go as many places and ask as many questions as you like. You'd be wasting your time, just like I wasted mine by trying to give constructive advice in my answer to this question.

When you are dealing with hair stuff you need to be VERY careful try using the loreal products some even have toner to help them not to look so bleached out!

Good Luck!

Well i know lemons help to lighten your hair only a bit.For as long as you keep the juices in you hair but you ahve to do it in the sunlight.

If you are going to do this yourself with a drug store color, you won't get an even color. Your natural color will be one color and the leftover black will be another color.

I would suggest going to a professional and having the black stripped out and then having the whole thing colored to the color you want. It may seem like it will cost you a lot of money, but its a lot cheaper than having to go in for a color correction on a botched home job.

Get it done at a salon! you never know whats in drug store colors and they are very damaging for your hair, depending on how much lighter you want to go, salons can use different strength developers whereas box colors only have one. It's hard to explain on here. Trust me if you do this yourself, you will regret it and you'll end up getting it fixed in a salon anyways and paying double the money. I end up fixing somebodys hair at least once a week from this. Hope you make the right choice. Good luck and happy holidays.
