It's all in the mind. For people that can't handle it, it's silver. For people that don't care, it's gray.

Generally fair hair goes gray faster. My Dad's blonde hair was completely gray by the time he was 50, while my Mom's black hair at 50 only has a few mostly unnoticable white hairs. This is one of the reasons why black, Indian, and Asian people tend to age better than people of European descent

Yes, you do not notice gray as much on a blonde but red hair looks faded and dark hair looks lovely with some gray.

Yes, they do. Part of the reason has to do with the underlying skin pigmentation, and part because different hair types depigment in different ways. Dark haired people (brunettes and black hair) frequently end up with wonderful heads of silver colored hair, while their blond and red-haired cousins end up with almost transparent hair.

Everyone grays differently. Two people with the exact same shade of hair will gray differently from each other. In general though, dark haired people have the typical gray hair you see most often. This is just from observation, but blonde haired people's hair turns more of a whitish color than gray (I come from a family full of blondes) Some people's hair doesn't change at all. My grandfather is 78 years old and still has jet black hair, not a gray to be found. I'm honestly not sure about redheads.
