Dying hair...?

my hair is naturally light brown, but i dyed it dirty blond awhile ago. i want to die it dark dark brown. i know this would be no problem, but my mom says once i die my hair brown, it won't go back to blond... is this true?

Dying hair...?

True to an extent. If you dye it brown, it will stay brown until it grows out completely or you bleach it to get it back to blonde. You will have brown hair until your hair grows to the same length that it is now and you will have to continue to get it cut monthly to cut off the brown. Then you will also have to deal with the unsightly regrowth. In your case, you will have a blonde streak of hair all along your part and the rest will be brown. This is an extreme difference in color and the difference gets more noticeable as your hair grows.

Or until you bleach it to get it blonde again. The bleaching and the color process is something that really should be done at the salon.

What your Mom might be trying to say is that it is too difficult to go through the entire growing process to get your natural color back. The regrowth is not an easy thing to look at daily and the upkeep is very time consuming and hard on your hair.

You should be cautioned that going from blonde to dirty blonde while risky is much more likely to be successful with an over the counter hair color than to try a more extreme change like blonde to brown. However, using any hair color or lightener with no professional knowlege of hair or hair color is very dangerous to your pride and you hair. If you tried to go from blonde to brown with those products and your lack of knowlege, you will probably not acheive a good result or color. The outcome may not be brown at all, you just never know.

Suggest going to a licensed professional. A licensed hairstylist is trained to know the chemicals, the correct staring points, color charts, timing, and processing to be able to acheive the color that you want. Using chemicals at home and experimenting is not as good an idea as we think it is, especially when we end up with orange or green hair.

The manufacturers of the hair color products that are sold to the retail public rely heavily on people's desire to save money and buy their products. The also rely on your lack of knowlege so that you will buy another of their products to repair the damage from the first mistake. They have no remorse or responsibility to you when your home hair color turns into an embarrassing disaster.

Good luck!

Dying hair...?

yes

Dying hair...?

you can't redye it and redye it over and over or it will die - meaning it will start breaking off

Dying hair...?

it is partally true you have to bleach it first then make it the color u want

Dying hair...?

once you dye your blonde hair brown, its going be be brown until it grows out. you can lighten it with bleach after though. I wouldn't really worry about it... if you really hate it wait for a while them bleach it.

Dying hair...?

it'll be difficult

Dying hair...?

it will go back to blonde if u die it back to blonde...

Dying hair...?

I'm going threw the problem of getting my hair from black to blonde. For you it won't be so hard but you will most likely have to bleach or lighten your hair many time to get back to your blond hair. It can take a little while but yes you can get back to blonde.

Dying hair...?

umm.......it depends

start by getting dark brown highlights soo its not too much of a problem if u dont like the color......

Dying hair...?

not for a while that is. %26amp; it would be very hard to get it blonde again .it is possible but it would be very damaging for your hair. if yoou wait a while and let the dark dye come out then it will be better if u want to dye it blonde again.

Dying hair...?

not exactly.

I've done it. I had my hair done really dark brown, and then I decided to put 6 colors on (the way I have now) so I have blond on the top. But when I had it done, the blond came out a little dark. My hair person said that's because I had it dark, but next time we do it (I go get my hair done every 6 weeks or so) , it will be much lighter. And it was :)

Dying hair...?

Unless it's a semi-permanent color like Herbal Essences Natural Instincts, it won't, but the new hair that grows in from the roots will be your natural light brown color. There are also products, like Color Oops, that are made to remove hair dye without bleaching, but it's been said that they damage hair.

Dying hair...?

no take it from me im 12 and ive died my hair 10 times wat ever

Dying hair...?

If you go dark the only way to remove the dark shade is with bleach. So yes, it will be able to be blonde again BUT.....it will be quite damaged. See a prof. stylist to do this. Do not attempt yourself. Your hair could end up in the sink.

Dying hair...?

She is correct...... It dosen't go back but If you get your hair cut really short when you want to get it back to blonde and get it regularly cut, It shouldnt be a problem. I have naturally blonde hair... I dyed it almost blackish brown....I am cutting it short and letting it grow getting it cut periodicly

Dying hair...?

I would ask your hair dresser, they'll be the ones to tell you. I think it would go back. When your hair grows and the color grows with it, your natural roots will tell you.

Dying hair...?

im not so sure. i have naturally very blonde hair. last summer, i died it light ash brown. it turned out to be way darker than what the box said, and it almost looked black! i cried on and off throughout the day, and washed my gair like 7 times in the shower. i took more showers like that the rest of the week and before i knew it, i was blonde again! now im back to my natural hair color and yeah. it was really weird..
