Why do girls dye their hair?

I'm a guy and I have never died my hair and don't see the need to. It seems like every girl has blond highlights or some kind of dye in their hair...why!?!? No one really gives a sh*t as far as I know.

Thats just your opinion. Girls die their hair sometimes because it's fun and sometimes they get bored with it and want to try different things. If you don't like it, then i'm sure you'll find someone who doesn't die their hair. not everyone girl does. :)

First of all, even guys dye their hair.. Maybe it's not that common as guys tend to keep their hair short so dying it won't make it that different.

Some reasons why people might dye their hair:

* Bored of seeing their hair colour always the same

* Want to change their hair but don't want to cut it: so they dye it

* Want to look like a celebrity or someone else, so they dye it that colour

* Think that an other colour suits them better, so they change it

* A colour is really in fashion so they esperiment with it

* They like to change and be different from others, so they dye their hair a strange colour

I have temporarily dyed my hair neon RED for about a week. Girls dye their hair because they want to change it without cutting it. If you cut your hair, then want it long again you have to wait for years! But if you dye it you can let it wear away or dye it another color!
