I've gone to the salon twice now to get red highlights in my dark brunette hair, but still am not satisfied with the results. It isn't enough red and the red slowly fades to a blond-ish red.
I wanted to dry an at-home hair coloring kit, but am not sure which brand to choose. I've heard L'Oreal and Garnier have good ones... what are your opinions?
Also, am I supposed to wait a certain amount of time after going to the salon before using an at-home coloring product? I went to the salon on November 14th (ten days ago as of today, November 24th).
Thanks! =]
What is the best at-home hair coloring product?
Lo'Real Feria is good. In general you would want to wait between 6 to 8 weeks between coloring. you don't want to run the risk of over processing your hair.

L'Oreal for sure or anything without Ammonium that is the stuff that smells so strong and kills your hair trys it out more. Good luck!
What is the best at-home hair coloring product?
All hair dye fades sooner or later and if the hairdressers cant come up with a surggestion to make it last longer then a home kit isnt going to help much either. my friend recently got bright red put in his black-brown hair and after a week it faded again. if it fades to quickly then your hair just wont take to the dye.
What is the best at-home hair coloring product?
Any home product is going to work differently on different people, Believe me, I've ruined my hair SOOO many times with products that have worked beautifully on others! If all you want is red highlights on your brown hair, the best thing is henna (the real stuff, not some "colored" stuff). Yes, Lucille Ball used this, but...rinsing it through brown hair could be wonderful and it gives your hair so much shine.
What is the best at-home hair coloring product?
John Freida is probably the best.
