My husband has a very pale skin, a round face and he has black hair (suprising?). His eyes are a mix of brown and hazel. He wants to bleach his hair? Is this a good idea? . If not, what color other that blond should he choose to dye his hair????...

Well, a change from black to bleach blonde would be sooooo different. Then if he didn't like it, he would have to keep it a while before he could dye it back. I suggest going for like a light brown or dirty blonde with highlights. Then in a few weeks or something, if he likes it he can keep it like that or dye it lighter. If he doesn't like it, he can dye it black. That way it won't be such a huge change...if he doesn't like it, it won't be as noticeable to other people as it would be from black to bleach blonde. Definately do not bleach his hair. If it's black it will pull brassy red. I would suggest highlights with a light brown toner. It'll be subtle, but different. Maybe even try a different hairstyle if he's getting bored with it.

i have medium long hair. I have coloured it ALOT, although my natural colour is dark brown, about 2-3 weeks ago i used blondisma and burned my hair so bad i had sores on my head for days...the day after...i dyed it an amber blond or something, supposed to be a very light brown, on my hair it looks orangish/yellow/brass...i dont know what to do. I plan on fixing it ut as for now i cant afford it. So i have this huge puffy ball of orange frizz. I condition it everyday but it doesnt help at all. I figure if i had a nice hairstyle to do after i straighten it with my flat iron, it wouldnt look so bad, any ideas on a hairstyle for me? medium long straightened hair....(ps..i KNOW the damage im doing so dont mention it plz)

Gurl aint nothin to it i was in the same spot as you are.Okay wat you do is straighten it (of course) lol then you put a lil gel on the top of your hair and that should darken the color for a while (more natrual) then you take 2 strands from the side not to thin and not to thick braid them to where you have 2 dookie braids on each side of your head. Then pull them back loosley and put a rubber band there to hold them toghether if you can't use rubber bands then use the littlest hair tie that you have and then put a lil gel on the part that hangs down and crincle it and then gurl u should have a style that looks BOMB!! lol (GOOD LUCK)

I would say to call around and find an inexpensive hair salon in your area to go and get it cut in a way that might help you out until your hair can recover from all of the coloring.

I know what it's like to do a bad color and then have to go and have it re-done again it sucks.

i reckon u should leave your for your hair dresser to sort out casue u have soo many problems wiv it. just tell them everythin u hav 2 us about the change in colour ..etc %26amp; they willl sort it out. go 2 a hairdresser which u know is good %26amp; that their products r good. it may cost alot but its worth it. my mum used 2 hav the same problem but now her hair is back 2 being a nice darkish brown, long layered hair.

several hair mask and drink lotsof water and take B viatmins, zinc and calcium. As for your hair cut shampooing to a min, why well less damage for now, let your natural oils help work on your hair, then use a hair conditioning mask and wait 2 weeks to give it time before you color it more.

Also if you want something try virgin olive oil for your ahir mask you can make at home as well if money is tight, then next time you color if you did it your self try to get what i call hippie color, it's natural no amonia thus no burns or pains, pick a color also vegtable based is good for your hair type, then try a gloss treatment aftewarsd to fake healthy hair that will last 4 week that runs 8.95 for clarol's hair gloss at CVS cheaper at wal-mart and other stores, but with this plan your hair will survive!

With regular conditioning which you already do, I suggest you let your hair recover a little longer.

However, you can always go and have a good haircut if you feel you are due for one or if a haircut would camouflage the accidental colouring. It might just work and it would not look so bad.

Once, you can afford it, then go to a salon to deal with your colouring. ~At least, if they get it wrong, you can go back to them %26amp; have it put right.

Hey Olu.

If you have afro-caribbean hair, it is unlikely, tho not impossible, that you will have blonde hair.

Black hair throws off red and then orange pigments as you try to lighten it and you may well be left with a bright copper tone, (not a good look unless god intended it for you)

Also, I would NOT try to do this yourself, go to a hairdresser, get an honest opinion on what they may think the outcome would be, get a quote, because it may take more than one visit to the salon and ask them for alternatives to going blonde.

It is such a damaging process for you hair to go thru and if not done properly, you can end up with no hair.

Please take my advice.

You can not reverse bleached hair - it is permanent - all you can do is dye it black again. Bleaching your hair does damage it %26amp; make it course though.

u might try to use the hair bleaching products at the store - they will work best if they have the photo of a black person with blond hair because it was meant for stronger hair like ours.

u can also use a peroxide, but that will take many treatments before it turns a nice blond instead of an odd yellow. the best thing might be to wait for the weekend when you are not going to be meeting too many people. use the peroxide or bleach on friday night. wear a hat around until sunday morning. then get some of that dye that turns it platinum. it will turn colors easier if it is already light.

as for turning it back to black, you may want to wait a few more days until the hair can recover, otherwise you might find that the overuse of chemicals will have begun to destroy the quality of the hair. but no worries, it will grow back normally.

ohhhhhhh maaaannnn do nt do it !!! black colored hair comes out orange !! and there is no way of reversing it ! the only way to make it blonde is to bleach it over and over until you get the color you want it ! i just did it and it makes your hair really coarse and brittle and dry !!!!! save yourself !

when you have dark you need to put pre lightner on it and then the blone hair dye. if you want to go from light to dark then just choose the dark hair colour you wish to goto and then your light hair should become dark. the way i look at it is its only hair it grows and if doubt put a hat on. or just dont take any notice of what any one thinks. and me being a woman i have tried many hair colours some have not work some have and i have plenty of hats that have been very useful.

You obviously used a color with a violet base and your hair being porous picked up the base. What you can do is give yourself a bleach bath. Mix 40 volume bleach with some shampoo. Have someone do this for you. That way they can watch as the lavender is lifted from your hair and they can immediatley rinse your hair, shampoo and condition it.

self: dont just buy a blonde dye, it might combine with your hair color, remember, dye "DYES" your hair. it doesn't color it. basiccaly, you need to fo to the salon and have them do it for you

I am a beautician. She has way over processed her hair. What she needs to do now is leave it alone. She needs to go get a deep conditioner and get her hair trimmed every month./ And sorry but it is possible that more will fall out. Some bleaches are really harsh and very bad for your hair. Contrary to popular opinion, over fried hair does not actually fall out, but it can break off at the roots. I think the answer is fairly obvious. Quit over bleaching! Once it begins you cannot stop it, the best thing is to cut it as short as possible and then leave it alone until the damaged part has grown out.

There is a chance of some hair loss from over dying/bleaching. She needs to stop bleaching/dying her hair so much and for now, stop period.

The dyes/bleaches..especially cheap ones contain proxides, ammonias and alcohols which dry out the hair. Constant coloring just makes it worse.

She needs to give it a rest for awhile or she wont have any bangs at all!! Bleach is a harsh chemical and if application is lapped over onto already bleached hair, it causes breakage. Should be applied to new growth only.

If she's constantly bleaching her hair, it will fry it. If you keep bleaching the same parts over and over it will break off. She needs to get some intensive conditioner (the really thick kind that you leave on for at least 3 minutes...Pantene is normally the best bet) and she also needs to get some leave-in conditioner so she has something protecting her hair all day. Pantene should also have some type of leave-in spray conditioner. She needs to not bleach her bangs again until her hair is healthy again. I don't think all of the hair will break off but she needs to be careful with it when she brushes it and it would be best if she can keep from blow drying it for a while so the conditioner can have a chance to repair some of the damage. If the hair is so broken down that it stretches 4-5 times it's length and then snaps and curls up- it is dead. That hair really needs to come off. The rest of the hair needs to be babied with not only moisture but protein. Like Redken Extreme. Do not shampoo very frequently, use little or no heat and when you do use heat apply a thermal heat protector. This is a hard lesson to learn.
