Why is everyone against my hair?

I'm a male, I have light brown hair, but everyone of my EXs has wanted me to dye it, some want me to dye it Black, the other want me to dye it blond. My co-wokers always tell me I should dye it some tell me to dye it blond some black, my classmates sometimes suggest I should dye it, some tell me to dye it blond, some black.

I had the same problem with my friends. My hair was light brown with a red tint to it. I thought it was very pretty and unique. I gave into peer pressure and dyed it, but then they told me I didn't pick the right color. I finally got to where I gave them the one finger salute and did what I wanted with my hair. They will get over it. =)

You could get 3 strips, 1 your natural colour, 1 blonde and one black. Don't worry about what others think too much. After all I bet they are not perfect. I dont think there is anything wrong with brunettes, mind you I am bias. It is possible they are jealous or perhaps your skin tone does not complement your hair, although I doubt that is the truth (the skintone thing not the jealous thing). There seems to be quite a bit of controversy as to whether a person with a light or lighter shade of brown hair is really a brunette or not. I think that brunette can probably apply to any shade of brown hair(esp. dark-brown) as well as black hair, or (at least) almost any shade brown, except for maybe a really light shade of brown hair which may actually be refered to as blond. Brunette seems to be more associated with having dark-brown or black hair, especially dark brown hair. I think medium brown hair should be able to be considered brunette because some dictionaries define brunette as having dark or relatively dark hair and medium brown hair is definitely relatively dark hair, but whether light brown hair is dark or relatively dark hair is probably more of a opinion. So, what does everyone think?

Since brunette comes from the French word for brown, I have always considered all shades of brown to be included in the definition. There is of course that nebulous area of "dirty blond" that could go either way. I actually have a little trouble calling those with black hair brunettes, because black is not brown, but we don't really have another word for them. This whole hair-color thing is basically a Caucasian issue, since we're the only ones with so much natural variation in hair color.

Brunette is actually any shade of brown from lt. brown to deep brown. Black is not considered to be brunette. I have brunette hair (although I call it "otter-coloured") that was very light when I was younger and is now trending darker with a well endowed silvery undercoat. If you want to go auburn use pure henna, if you want to go brown you must add indigo to the henna.

IN both cases you should be using only 100 % pure natural henna so it won't react with any other dyes you have in your hair already.

If you use a compound henna product, the metallic salts and chemicals might have a strange reaction with the dye already in your hair and make your hair green or ??.

Keep in mind that henna is a natural plant dye and it only comes in one color-red/brown.

Anything that says it is blonde henna or some other color will have other things added to change the color.

If it says black, it isn't henna, but again has something else added. Do some research on PPD to see what happens whenyou use products called "black henna"

Indigo is safe like real pure henna and the color from both is just as permanent as chemical hair dyes.

Henna bonds with the keratin the hair and the result is beautiful.

Like other hair dyes, it might fade with sun or time a little.

Try the avigal henna, it lasts about 4-6 weeks (though doesn't really ever wash out totally), and comes in many different shades (including shades for blonde hair). Don't use dye on top of henna, though. Since you're hair still has some dye in it, I would get some neutral henna %26amp; mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with the color of your choice (put some olive or jojoba oil in the mixture for extra shine), and maybe start with leaving it for 1/2 an hour-45 minutes. Once you are confident you like the results, use less (or no) neutral %26amp; work your way up to leaving it in for one hour or more. Be careful with the darker shades on your blonde hair, as they may not wash out or fade completely.

Hullo.

So, I have strawberry-blondish hair (it's reddish, blondish, peanut-butterish) And I want to dye it a deeper, richer red (There's a color called chocolate cherry that I like) Problem is, my eyebrows are blond, and I mean BLOND! Can I dye my eyebrows as I dye my hair, with the same stuff? What are the chances of this working, and HOW do I do it?

Also, I have very fair skin and blue eyes...is this brownish red color I have picked out alright with my coloring? What other color for my hair can you suggest?

Sorry I have a lot of questions...please help with as many as you can!

I definitely wouldn't dye eyebrows. It looks unnatural. Maybe dye your hair chocolate cherry, then put in highlights to lighten it up a little bit.

If you look at the back on any hairdye box, it tells you not to. Your eyebrows could turn out a horrible color, or even worse, you could get it in your eye and go blind.

I had the same problem as you. I have blonde eyebrows and naturally blonde hair. Then, I dyed my hair dark red. What you need to do is get a good eyebrow pencil that matches your new hair. Go with someone who can give you a good opinion. But don't dye your eyebrows! There are way to many risks! Just read about it on the internet or on the back or hairdye boxes...or even ask your hair stylist.

First of all, I can't tell anything without knowing how fair you're skin is, and how dark the hair color is either so I don't know what to tell you.

Don't use the haircolor on your eyebrows. The chemicals in there are dangerous to your eyes. You can call a couple of salons and ask about 'eyebrow tinting'. Check them out with the Better Business Bureau too, just to see about safety rating and so forth. You are lucky that your eyebrows are blonde and you want to go to a darker shade; it's much harder and higher maintenance for dark going light, trust me on that one!

Once you have had your eyebrows 'tinted' a couple of times by a professional (it's not that expensive) and you have a comfort level with it, then check with local beauty supply stores about the tint. Just pay attention to what is being done to you when this is being applied - don't be really chatty at this time, we all do it - and then you can learn to do it safely yourself. It's not hard but you have to be sooooooo careful since it's so close to your eyes.

I have naturally light blonde hair so my eyebrows are light. I went to get my eyebrows waxed and the woman dyed them for me. I've NEVER gotten so many compliments on my eyes/eyebrows as I did for the few weeks it lasted. At first I was concerned by the fact that my brows were a brown color and I'm blonde, but once I got use to it I loved it. Definitely don't do it yourself, go to a professional. They can also guide you on what color you should go with. :-)

yes you can just take a tint brush from the beauty supply and gently brush on brows,it is easyer to have someone else help you, and make sure you don't mash it into you skin around you brows the color might stain the skin a little ,put it just on the hairs, keep your eyes closed while someone does it,you dont want it accidently in your eyes

Okay. So, a few months ago, I dyed my natural medium brown hair black with the semi-permanent, 28 day Clairol Natural Instincts hair dye. 28 days my butt!! It's been about two months and it's barely faded. And I've recently read that it can take six or more months to fully wash out. I'm not going to wait that long!

So, I want to go to my stylist and get my hair cut, stripped, get some fillers, and get it dyed brown, and some medium blond partial highlights. All on the same day. With a deep conditioning treatment about a week later.

What I want to know is, will this make my hair horribly awfully unbelievably frizzy? The stripping, at least. You should also know, I straighten my hair everyday with a CHI straightener, have naturally slightly wavy hair, and live in Florida. Thank you =)

ok this is the advice i give to everyone who dyes their hair balck cus its wat i did wen i dyed my own hair black (by accident)

over here we have a shampoo called Head and shoulders. use twice a week on your hair as it strips the colour outta it and should fade the black to a dark brown eventually getting lighter.

i wouldn reccommend getting your hair stripped at all , it wil really damage it but ask your hairdresser she can best advise you.

But anyways my hair frizzes all the tI'me because of the humidity.So if you live in Florida im sure yours does too a lot..

So ALL that and stripping would be a no!! I know someone who did it and part of her hair fell out. Stripping is really dangerous unless you have perfect shiny, smooth, hair.And especially on top of all that? no way. It will make your hair frizzy and coarse. Go to you stylist and tell them what you want to do to your hair without causing too much damage.They should find a good solution you will be happy with
