ok my niece dyed her hair a dark black about a month ago and decided today she wanted to go blond so we got a natural hair dye today and put it in and the only thing it dyed was the roots which turned an orange color, so then we decided to pour peroxide over it which did absolutely nothing so then we decided to pour a mixture of half bleach and half water over and we let it stay on it about 5 mins which did nothing it is still as black as ever. Please if you know how to get the black out let us know we are getting frantic cause it looks terrible and she has to go to school monday.

OMG!!!! You did all that to her hair in one day? At this point, I highly recommend an emergency trip to a reputable hair salon so it can be professionally remedied. Other home fixes may not work and may actually do serious damage because of the bleach, peroxide and other things already done to her hair. Good luck.

My suggestion is to go to a professional. Black is a hard color to get out of hair. You NEVER want to dye black hair blonde until all of the old dye is out of the hair. Also dying the hair too much can majorly damage it.
tell her not to go straight black. Go a darker brown, and when it's okay, keep going. medium brown, light brown, dark blonde, the shade she wants. Hope it helps!

I'd go to a hair salon and see what they can do.
I had a girlfriend who was natural blonde and decided to dye her hair a dark brown. When she finally wanted to go back to blonde we couldn't get it out. We went to a hair stylist to find out what the problem was....light hair has no pigment and dark colour fills the cuticle with it and it can;t be coloured over. You have to go have it chemically stripped, which is a special process done in a salon to remove the pigment. You can't do it by yourself because the chemicals used aren't store bought. It is a long procedure and may be expensive and you STILL might not be able to get all the dye out....my suggestion is wash it alot until it fades a bit and then go get it stripped and DO NOT EVER pour peroxide or bleach on a persons hair, it KILLS it. Sometimes you have to know when to throw in the towel and go to a professional. Cheers!
there is a special type of peroxide you have to use. it is used by Hairdressers. it is not the kind you use on sores. best you go to a salon or you may end up damaging her hair. i hope you do not mean bleach as in cleaner, because that is not for hair you can cause damage to skin and eyes.

Without knowing what you are doing, the best option you have at the moment is to dye it all back to black again with a home kit. The reason that only the roots turned lighter is because color does not "lift" color. You can not lighten colored hair with color. It will not happen. Since her roots were virgin hair without color, the roots lifted. If you are going to bleach hair, you can't simply pour bleach and water on someone's head. You should absolutely never experiment with this stuff without specifically knowing what to do. You have to buy powder bleach intended specifically for hair and mix it with 20, 30 or 40 volume. Even at that, the worst thing you can do with black hair is to slap bleach on it. It is far too hard to pull the color out and will definitely end up orange. Just go to the store and get black hair color in a kit and do it back to black. You are going to make it worse by the second with everything you try. Then, consult a pro if you have money.
I'm a hairstylist and U should take her to a salon asap!!!! It is gonna cost a lot because that is a going to be a lot of correction! U can't go from black to blond in a day! It takes a process, ur can try a soak cap, that is shampoo,hair bleach mix it together and put a shower cap on her head and work it in her hair until some of the black will come out! I am also a hair stylest... and you DEF need to get this girl to a salon... DO NOT TOUCH IT ANYMORE! what you do is use an extra body shampoo and conditioner.. once you've washed it use moose and blow dry your hair upside down.. when its dry spray hair spray onto the tips of your fingers and mess your hair up from the roots, that gives it heapfs of volume... you can get these sprays for your hair they're like salt water but they sort of make your hair curly at the same time lol.

freaky streak time! I think people use vaseline to protect the hair they don't want bleached... Might as well get it done professionally though so you don't have to work as hard. Just give them the picture, they'll know what to do. Careful not to get it in your eyes. I had a friend that did styles like that. I never asked her how..

I have recently (last couple of weeks) noticed a small patch (about 3/4 inch) of discolored hair on my chin. The hair changed from dark brown to either a blond or white color. The rest of my facial hair is unaffected. I don't believe it to be natural graying because it is so concentrated in one spot and I don't have a graying problem anywhere on my head or body. What could cause this? I'm not sure if this might be relevant, but I've had a small but deep scar right next to the patch for the last 4 1/2 years, but only now has the discoloration begun to occur. Here's the easiest way I've found. This example shows how to turn black hair gray, but this is the starting point for going from brown to blonde.

Once you have really "bleached" the brown hair, select an orange-yellow color for your paintbrush and go over the hair using about 5% opacity. Keep going until you have the degree of color that you want.
I say to do it this way, because it preserves the texture of the hair.
This is NOT a really professional technique, but I'm guessing that you are just curious to see what your hair would look like as a blonde and this will work fine for that.

Do you have photoshop? If so, you can use the lasso tool and get all of the hair, and then go to photofilter and try that, if that doesn't work just try any other thing to get it to the shade you want it. But whenever I change my hair color in photoshop, I use photofilter.

It will work, but you have to be sure you leave the bleach on long enough. Bleach generally goes through stages as it is lightening.. first you'll see it start to turn red, then orange, then yellow, then blonde.. and you have to be sure to wear a processing cap to prevent the bleach from drying (once it dries it stops processing)
You should try a Sally Beauty Supply store and get 1 or 2 packets of bleach ( Super Oreal Blanc by Loreal is a good one.. try to stay away from Quick Blue as it can take up to 3 or 4 hours to fully process) and a bottle of 30 volume peroxide.. process this until you see it turn to about the tone of blonde that you are looking for. Afterwards you will need a deep moisturizing conditioner like the Feria conditioner by Loreal which I've only been able to find at Sally's, but it is one of the best conditioners I've used EVER. (They will try to offer you an Ion conditioner if you go to Sally's.. all I'm going to say is it sucks and don't buy it lol)
Once you get through that, if you don't like the tone there are ways to correct it for instence.. if it comes out a little on the yellow side you can use a violet based toner or violet shampoo.. too red you can use an ash based toner, too orange you can use a blue or blue/violet based toner or violet shampoo.

Yes i think it will suit you very much as long as its not too heavy. Just 'brushed' in look will look really nice. You have similiar skin tone so yeah go for it! :) As with all hair dye, a bit of eye make up looks really nice too :)

If you want it to stay looking as natural and good as has been, then find a way to stick with your hairdresser. otherwise, i'd go back to your natural color and work with it.

First of all you should have dye your hair more than 3 shades lighter than you have at a time. This can be very damaging. What I found that worked for me in a safe way was lightening shampoos.
I used the Luminous Colour Glaze by John Frieda. It doesnt actually lighten hair, but I found that if you use it with dyed hair it removes some of the darkness and adds multidimensional color rather than that harsh black. I used the red one. Report It

You are going to have to have it bleached, you can't by any means dye hair that dark with any kind of dye, especially with semi permanent. Like the first poster said, you can't lift color with color.
wash your hair really well in the shower. the dye will rinse off and therefore, become lighter. being in the sun alot helps too (turns it brown) but be sure to use SPF

I heard that it is bad to straighten hair with a flat iron, but what happens? Also, what hair style cut with look good with a dirty blond with thick, and at parts, wavy hair. Any prolonged heat styling will do damage to the hair. It strips the natural moisture, which is less abundant at the ends, which of course produces more split-ends and flyaways. Be sure to use products that contain no alcohols, deep condition on a regular basis, trim the ends every 6-8 weeks, and if possible, use a high quality flat-iron with ceramic plates. They are more expensive, but well worth the price.
There are a few things you can do with your style. If you like the length, you can either get a body wave (a type of perm, but w/ loose curls and not leaving you like a poodle), or there is chemical straightening. I wouldn't reccommend the chemical straightening because it can be a lot more stressing on the hair, especially with you being blonde. they are generally done more on people with african descent who have much coarser hair. Or, you can shorten the length. Perhaps you have too much weight pulling downward on your tresses which straightens out the natural wave you may have. Remember that by lightening the weight, you will have a little more curl and volume than you may be used to. If you do this, you'll need to also put in some layers and maybe even some undercutting. Also, with less hair to deal with, straightening won't be such a long task. good luck
I used to straighten my hair everyday. It is fine, nothing will happen. You may get more split ends but nothing more. Also... It will help and protect your hair if you use a heat protectant spray. I use pantene pro-v heat protector spray. It rocks! Just don't use it toward you scalp if you have oily hair b/c it will make it look dirty when it really is just healthy. I hope I helped!

Yes, but I advise not to use 100% lemon juice, try adding it to your conditioner or if you want to go out in the sun with it, dillute it with water. Your hair will get lighter either way

yes i tried it once. u get pieces of hair and run lemon juice through it like you would highlights and sit in sun. the acid will make it lighter but it will also ruin your hair. i did it but i regreted it. it took a whole for my hair to be healthy again, but it did look cute while it lasted. it will only last a couple weeks
Um. No, it will bleach it. Wich won't look right. In my opinion, don't color, or bleach your hair, until you need it, (when you get gray hairs). I helped! Yay!
Yes, my sister used to do that in the summer and she was already blond. Just buy some of that stuff that you can spray on your hair and go play in the sun to bleach it. Comes with directions and everything.
it all depends on your hair color, how much you use it, and how well you condition. If you have medium brown hair to black dont use sun in unless you want your hair to turn some nasty orange color. But if you hair light brown or blonde hair it works really nicely and brings out beautiful blonde highlights. also make sure that you dont overuse it and do a deep conditioning after you use it so that your hair stays moisturized and healthy.

Using pure LEMON JUICE or BEER makes your hair lighter.
It does both! The product does make your hair more blonde but it dries it out terribly. I used it a few times myself. I think it's heat activated because I used to use a hair dryer and found that my hair still got lighter even without exposure to the sun.
If you use it, I would recommend a very good hair conditioner to keep your hair from getting too damaged.

It does work and it is one of the worst things you can do to your hair. Sun is already damaging to your hair, and this stuff dries it out too... you're probably better of highlighting or even bleaching.
Lemon juice works too, but not nearly as well as sun in.
It does work, but it also hurts your hair. It dries it out insanely. Also, after a while the color starts to turn coppery. I'd say that if you're going for blonde natural looking highlights then use it, but otherwise just get your hair dyed.

I'm a natural brunette who had highlights to become blonde. My roots where dramatically coming in so I had a trusting girlfriend touch them up with foils...however..they're a little uneven and if i pull my hair up you still see the darker spots. Do i continue to fix it with foils?? Can I throw a box of hair dye in my hair without drastically making the blonde blonder to fix it?
I would get your friend to put more foils in it for you to blend the underneath of your hair. If she is a professional, she should fix it for free. I wouldn't try to fix it with OTC color because it may worsen the color. You can't predict the color is it going to turn with that. Now if the spots you are talking about or "bleed marks" then you have a bigger problem. I am assuming the "spots" are you regrowth from the previous highlights, and you only got your crown touched up the last time. So a full head of foils should fix you!

it depends what color you use put you could just try to rehighlight you roots by a poffessional because if you color it blonde you'll be ALL blonde unless the brown turns orange (like most brunette hair)
